It is the interchanging Division between Eastern and North Frontier Railway. This division provides services to the Silk, Mica, Quartz, Sand and seasonal crop industries like Mango apart from serving 2 super Thermal Power Plants and Indian Tobacco co.
Places to Visit Popularly known as Gour, few decades ago, this was the capital of Bengal. Among the relics are Baroduari, Ramkeli, and Adina mosque important for visitors.
Bhagalpur
This university town with a long
heritage of learning, is also famous for its silk. The ruins of the ancient
Vikramshila university is 42 Km away. Rock cut temple at Colganj and the Vishnu
temple on a hill top are tourist attractions Monghyr
The little town has nothing to show today for
its long history except a Mughal fort and a temple, but it was once the capital
of the ancient Anga kingdom. The British conquered Bihar in the battle of Buxar,
which is nearby. There is a sound and light show at Buxar recounting the story
of Ramayana and history of India.
